Missed Plane?

I had a dream last night that I missed my plane to Hong Kong. I missed it because Gene left one of my bags at a restaurant or something, and I was in a cab driving around looking for it. I saw Emily and asked her for a ride to the airport but she said she was busy.

What’s.. going on.

last night i hung out with corys boss and his 16 year old son at their giant ranch on the outskirts of scottsdale. we went there trying to grill some hamburgers for dinner, and he said i should check the place out. apparently they're good friends. the house is in the middle of nowhere, but it's giant and has all this ridiculous shit in it. everyone here is rich. i got to drive corys sti on the way home for about 30 minutes. that car is badass like nothing i've ever driven before.

Saucy HVAC Technicians

had dinner at tgi fridays (got a bunch of happy hour appetizes with corey), got blazed and drank Sol beer in the hot tub at the apartment with all of the neighbors around here. this place is more like a fraternity than anything. coreys neighbors are hvac installers and one guy who has a tint company, and they're all competitive jet ski stereotypical surfer types. i've seen a lot of 17 year olds in $60,000 cars here. interesting.

Investigating STA

went to STA Travel today in santa monica and looked further into finally booking a r/t ticket to hong kong. they quoted me at $750, including tax. seems like a lot, but i suppose that's a reasonable rate considering that taxes alone amount to $140-$200. i can leave on th e7th though, so that means i have the opportunity to hang out with jason and elaine while i'm there. i'm anxious to go!

had a good time tonight at muse with quix. i couldn't believe how he talks to his women. he's really truly the most la-like person i know, and he's only been here for 3 years. matter of fact, i found out tonight that he's from vienna.

i picked up a ton of bud tonight! 1/2 ounce of chronic! half of that is going to esfand, hopefully tomorrow when i find something to send it it.

Juju & Craze @ Respect, LA

ust got back from juju & craze at respect. that place was going absolutely off. i still can't believe the scope of the scene out here. it's very different from dc; a thursday night drum & bass party like respect draws an absolutely full house. the mc said they had to turn 100 people away, which isn't a surprise considering how full the place was at midnight and how long i had to stand in line outside. while i was waiting to get in craze and juju walked by, i talked to craze for a moment and told him to do some routines. he said he had a few new ones that he'd play, and he did at the end of the night. craze is craze, and it was awesome, but he had some needle skipping problems. this was definitely the best that i've ever seen craze, though. he seems to carry the stigma of being the dj with limitless technical skills, but lacking the selection of some more veteran drum & bass dj's. now that he's been teamed with juju and cartel for about a year, he's starting to get the plot, i think. it's so much more fun to go to a weekly where everyone is dancing and going nuts rather than going someplace that's halfway full of people standing around like dc. this place knocks the shit out of anywhere i've been on the east coast with regard to night life.

i got my laptop back from dell and got xp pro on it this evening. got the OS installed in record time, ensured that it's activated this time, and starting installing my core apps. i'm really glad to be back on this, after being on the G5 for a week. i didn't think that i'd say that, but using a mac and osx really made me appreciate my pc a lot. i think that i attained a good level of familiarity with osx after using it a few hours a day for almost a month, and now i think for the first time i can say that i genuinely prefer the windows/pc interface and operation. the G5 was maxed out as well, dual 2ghz with 1.5gb of ram. it was great at multi-tasking, and like i said before, i love expose, but it still wasn't as fast as i thought it should be, all things considered.

i was planning on going back to scottsdale tomorrow, but i'm thinking about staying in venice until sunday now. christian got back today, and jackie told me that they're having his birthday party here on saturday. i wasn't that interested until he said that 200 people showed up last year, and they also had a successful lingerie party in the spring. these roommates have been 100% top notch all around guys. i really can't be any happier about how things worked out here in california. i suppose i'm ready for the next chapter, phoenix arizona. i spent a few days there on my way here and enjoyed it much more than i thought i would. this time i'll have more time to acclimate myself to my surroundings there. hopefully i can get as good a feel for that place as i've gotten of venice and of west la (and hollywood). one thing i'll raelly miss is the night life though, and especially dub club. speaking of which, i listened to jah faiths album that i bought last night and it kicks ass. i'll have to get esfand a copy of that, i think he'd like it. the cd has a picture of the guy that i bought it from, the 40 year old rasta dude who was blazed out of his mind. he could hardly keep his eyes open.

anyway, it being just past 4:20am, i think i'll pass out now. i'll set the alarm on my cell phone so that i don't sleep until 2pm tomorrow.

Dub Club

went to a club in echo park tonight called club echo.. wednesday nights in that place is called Dub Club. goddamn did it kick ass. when we got there it was a live 7-piece reggae show. unbelievable music, total vibes. the kind of thing i'm sure you can find in only a handful of cities on this continent. after that there was a dj with a gang of reggae mc's trading the mic back and forth. everyone in the place was blazed and feeling irie. i bought a cd off one of the mc's for 5 bones. he looked the most high out of all of them. the cd has a huge plant on it and a picture of the dude and it says live at the dub club. i'm so happy right now. time to pass out.

Butterfly Effect

just got done watching the butterfly effect. to my shock and amazement, that movie fucking kicked ass. it was good enough to go through the trouble to locate dvd decryption, compression, and burning software for osx that i can have my own copy of it to watch again. jenn arrived on friday and is behind me playing with the nintendo ds. its smooth enough for her to get into mario64 while i wait for this dvd to copy; i'm amazed.

Barcade

barcade was fun last night. the djs always kick ass there. got a bunch of cheap drinks and played a long game of rampage with eric. we past level 50 and it didn't end, so we gave up.

after that got a "six dollar burger" at carls jr which eric is all about. i was like, fuck that place, in-n-out. we debated about that for a few minutes. the six dollar burger meal might've been the most food i've eaten in one sitting this year besides thanksgiving.

i got two parking tickets today. fuck. because i'm selling my car though, i don't think i'll pay them. i'll have to look into that, though.

currently listening to: willie williams - see you when i get there

happy birthday to me. i'm going to get lunch and return san andreas to blockbuster, now.
