Song of the Day #20: Pasilda
One of the biggest house tracks to come out in the early 2000's. I vividly remember hearing this for the first time on New Years 2000-2001 in the main room of The Edge in SE Washington DC. The Eastcoast Boogiemen dropped it while they were playing the headline set on four turntables. Of all the memories I have in clubs during those years, this was one of the most memorable.

Song of the Day #10: Gene Farris
Gene Farris - Visions of the Future (Roy Davis Jr. Remix)
This was one of the tracks that got me into DJ'ing. I heard it on a DJ Dan mixtape called Beats 4 Freaks (I rocked the cassette mixtapes in my 1988 Lincoln Towncar when I was 18) and searched for this song on vinyl for years. Literally, I searched for years. I never found it. This was one of those that "got away". Slipped right through my fingers.
It's minimal and funky at the same time. Great dance track that carries a really infectious groove. Of all the filtered French-style house music, this is a timeless classic that any true house head recognizes.
